Document reading

Packing list reader

A PDF scan turned into a spreadsheet — items, quantities and weights extracted automatically, with no retyping.

A packing list arrives as a scan: a table, often crooked, sometimes with handwritten additions. Retyping it into a spreadsheet takes an hour and ends in typos in the reference numbers. The application does it in under a minute and hands back a finished file.

How does it work?

You drag a PDF into the frame, pick a reading engine and click one button. A moment later back comes a spreadsheet with items, quantities and weights — in the layout the company uses, not the one the sender happened to have.

Two engines and a comparison

Choose the more accurate or the cheaper reading engine, and for difficult documents a comparison mode that runs both at once and shows the differences. Clean scans do fine on the cheaper one; handwritten additions are worth the accurate one.

Accounts and the key

Access is by account, so the whole team uses it rather than one person on their own computer. The key to the reading service sits on the server — nobody has to paste it in themselves.
