Dictation and translation

Notatnik-OP

A notebook that turns speech into text and translates it on the spot — all the processing runs on your own machine, with no recordings sent anywhere.

A note made in the car or between meetings usually dies: nobody is going to type it up. This application shortens the road from thought to written text to a single key — you speak, and a moment later the entry is there. In English straight away, if that is what you need.

How does it work?

One key starts the recording, another ends it — and the text lands in the open note. A separate shortcut lets you dictate in Polish and have it written down in English, so nothing has to be pasted into a translator afterwards. The speech model runs on the graphics card in the same computer.

Why local?

Recordings never leave the machine. There is no per-minute subscription, no length limit and no question about what an outside service does with a recording of a conversation about a client. Several model sizes are available — a faster one for quick notes, a more accurate one for longer recordings.

What else is inside?

Search across the content, sorting by last change, and a lock on a note: dictation will not overwrite a locked one, even if the shortcut fires by accident. Notes live in a database file next to the program, so moving to another computer means copying a single file.
