The strategic challenge
4RELO competes on two fronts at once: locally in Wrocław, where dozens of firms and man-with-a-van operators chase the same customer, and internationally — against carriers from Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. The existing WordPress site was a business card: a dozen or so pages, around 108,000 characters of content, one language, a heavy theme and a page builder. A customer looking for a move to Munich, a relocation from Seoul to Poland, or a company to clear out a cellar in Oleśnica simply never found it.
Solution architecture
- A custom engine instead of WordPress — plain PHP 8 and SQLite. No plugins, no front-end dependencies, full control over every byte of HTML. The site serves finished, lightweight code and there is nothing to "update" every week.
- 10 language versions (PL, EN, DE, FR, NL, CS, SK, HU, RO, KO) with correct hreflang and x-default. Each version carries full content, not machine translation on the fly — Google indexes it as a separate, local site.
- 185 service and city landing pages in every language — from "removals Białystok" to relocations from Korea to Poland. Over 2,200 URLs in the sitemap in total, each with its own title, description and structured data.
- Content: from 108,000 to 10.5 million characters — 97× more substantive text. The old pages were carried over, then rewritten and expanded; the expert blog answers the questions customers actually ask (costs, paperwork, low-emission zones across Europe, personal effects, customs clearance).
- Background globe animation — 3ds Max, no AI. A hand-built 3D scene with relocation routes across Europe, rendered separately in each of the 10 languages — the labels on the globe are in the visitor's own language. Every version is encoded in two formats (AV1 for modern browsers, H.264 as a fallback) and two resolutions: 40 video files in total, and a phone never downloads the 1920 px version.
- Move volume calculator — a custom application: the customer describes the route and the home step by step, gets a volume estimate and sends an enquiry straight away. The lead reaches the company with a complete set of details, with no follow-up phone call needed.
- Referral programme — a custom system: a partner link and QR code, a register of orders from referred customers, a status panel. Word of mouth turned into a measurable sales channel.
- Completed jobs and "before / during / after" galleries — social proof built on real jobs, not stock photography.
Under the hood
- AVIF images with a responsive srcset — the browser downloads exactly the size the screen needs.
- Self-hosted fonts (woff2, only the character sets in use) — no requests to Google Fonts, no waiting on someone else's servers.
- Schema.org: MovingCompany, WebSite, BlogPosting, BreadcrumbList — rich snippets and correct breadcrumbs in search results.
- AEO — llms.txt: a manifest for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. When someone asks a language model about moving from Wrocław to Germany, 4RELO has structured knowledge about itself stated outright.
- Cookie consent compliant with GDPR and Google Consent Mode — analytics and ads only start after acceptance.
- Lighthouse: Performance 99, Accessibility 93, Best Practices 96, SEO 100 — despite a full-screen 3D video in the hero.
SEO results — visibility in Google
The effect of the rebuild shows in Google Search Console data almost immediately after the new site went live:
- From 11 to 630 queries a week — in the last week of August the site appeared in results for 11 queries; three weeks later, for 630.
- From 39 to 1,533 impressions a week — almost 40× more visibility in search results in under a month.
- 214 queries in Google's top ten in September (19 in August), 376 queries in the top twenty.
- 71 countries from which users reach the site through Google — the result of 10 language versions and service pages for specific destinations.
- Position 1 for, among others, "removals to Canada", "removals to Australia", "customs clearance removals" and every branded query.
And this is only the start — new pages and language versions are still entering the index, and the number of ranking queries grows week by week.
The result
A local business card became an international sales platform: 10 language markets, over 2,200 indexable URLs, 97× more content and in-house sales tools (calculator, referral programme) that competitors do not have. The whole thing runs on lightweight custom code — fast, with no plugin subscriptions and no risk of a theme update breaking the site.
